Christian started out as a Notes developer and Domino administrator, but now often sit on the other side of the table, initiating the dialog with customers and finding the solutions that makes a difference.
“When I’m with customers my only aim is to find solutions that will add value to their business. Solutions that will bring their business to new heights.”
“The philosophy is that the customer should benefit from our visit. We should be an economical gain, ensuring that the customer will earn more money than before.”
“The customer should succeed with his project. He should be satisfied and feel that he is getting something out of our work. Our focus in on making the customer happy and helping him improve his systems. ”
A foot in each camp
As CEO for Gravgaard & Co, Christian benefits daily from, so to speak, having a foot in each camp. He speaks the language no matter if he’s speaking to the CEO, CFO, a developer or an end user and he knows his subject matter to the smallest detail.
”My advantage is that I have been a Notes developer for many years. I know the system inside and out and I know precisely where to look in the customers systems to find the areas, where they can work smarter than they do today. Areas where they can save money by letting the system do the work and use their employees for something else and smarter.”
”I speak the same language as the one who makes the decision to change the system in order to make more money for the company. At the same time I am on equal footing with the developers, when they discuss how to solve a given challenge.”
Sells solutions – not hot air
Christian is a meticulous, straight forward and ambitious gentleman, who always does his utmost when he creates solutions in IBM Notes and Domino. He sells solutions that lasts – not hot air.
”I don’t over-sell nor do I sell unfishable solution, Christian says with thinly vailed reference to the numerous examples of sellers promising the moon, he personally knows about.”
”I’m the guy that insists on creating lasting solutions for his customers. I also know what takes time to create and what doesn’t.”
A lasting business partner
For Christian honestly and frankness are the core value in the relationship between his company and its customers. Also if it means that Gravgaard & Co every now and then have to disappoint a customer and pass on an order.
The customer will experience that we clearly state when we don’t believe that it is possible to create a quality solution or if they ask for something we just can’t do. We won’t solve everything at any price. We will gladly assist in creating solutions, but we won’t necessarily do it ourselves. We do what we’re good at and get others to do what we can’t do.
”The essence of a good partnership is that both parties are satisfied. We do our job, the customer is happy and we can vouch for our solutions. That gives everybody a good feeling, happy days and a partnership that is pointing forward.”
Christian also has a the webshop LEDHome.dk that sells LED lights and Smart Home products and his personal blog, christian-gravgaard.com, where he, among other things, writes about body language and entrepreneurship.
