IBM Notes/Domino 10.0.1 Fix Pack 1 has been released
IBM and HCL Technology have released the first 10.0.1 Fix Pack, which has very adroitly been named 10.0.1 FP1. To make the confusion total, FP here stands for “Fix Pack” and not “Feature Pack”.
This Notes/Domino Fix Pack is what is called a low-risk, high-impact release. I.e. they have correct a few error which impact a lot of users. The Fix Pack requires that you have Notes/Domino 10.0.1 installed, but on the other hand it oly takes up 75 Mb. This is very positive in comparison to previous Fix/Feature Packs that have been 500-800 Mb.
The Fix Pack, which release can be found here, contains 30 corrections. These correction apply to the Notes Client, Notes Designer, the compiler used on the Domino serve and iNotes.
More correction to Domino Query Language
Several of the programming related correction is for the new Domino Query Language (DQL). DQL is Notes/Domino’s new SQL language, which was introduced in Domino 10.
Domino Query Language runs in the Domino core and gives you the option for a short syntax to find documents from a long list of complex conditions. DQL uses an externally generated directory as well as a DomQuery command line to tune queries.
How to upgrade to 10.0.1 FP1
The new update to Notes and Domino can be found via Technote #0871936 “Download Options for Notes & Domino 10.0.1 Fix Packs” and installed on a Notes or Domino 10.0.1.
